Yarmouth Port-based artist Aaron Souza is exhibiting a collection of new paintings and silverpoint drawings in the Marion Craine Gallery through the month of February. The exhibition, titled "Land, Light and Figure," will showcase paintings combining traditional technique with Impressionist color sensibility, exploring the beauty of the Cape Cod landscape, the interplay of light and color, and the human figure, along with a group of silverpoint drawings of coastal New England.
Abstract oil paintings by Christine Fitzsimmons will be displayed in the Marion Craine Gallery through December in her exhibition, What Is It? An Exploration of Abstract Art. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome.
Colored pencil works by Beverly Fuller will be displayed in the Craine Gallery in her exhibition, The Fine Art of Colored Pencil. The works will be on display through the month of November. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome.
The recent works of Richard Ogden Perry are on display in the Craine Gallery through the month of October. The exhibit features a mix of intaglio reliefs and watercolor paintings. A reception for the artist will be held in the Craine Room on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Richard is also teaching a two-part course for the Friends of Snow Library Fall Lifetime Learning session, which will dive deeper into his journey as an artist and the techniques he has explored. The first lecture in the course will be on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Circus-themed artwork by the artist, Belfontaine, will be displayed in the Craine Gallery through September. Belfontaine has been studying and creating in paint and sculpture his favorite subject, circus life, for over 39 years. With his immersion into the circus and the life behind the scenes, he has been able to create art that brings the circus into the gallery.
Mixed-media collages by artist Pia MacKenzie will be displayed in the Craine Gallery in her exhibition: Secret Gardens. The works will be shown through the month of August. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Craine Gallery. All are welcome.
For more than a decade, the Painters’ Group— Marian Strangfeld, Tish Dodge, Helen Baldwin, and Pam Turnbull—has come together to paint. Whether the subject of a painting has been landscape or still life, flora or fauna, abstract or expressive, each painter brings a unique style enhanced by the group’s critiques, suggestions, and motivation. Along the way, good friendships have emerged as well as fine art. Included in this exhibition are some of the paintings born of that process. They will be on display in the Craine Gallery through the month of July.

See oils by Rita Doddridge (1933-2022), an abstract artist and longtime member of the Marion Craine Gallery Committee, the Chatham Creative Arts Center and the Visual Arts Cooperative. The show will hang through October in the library’s Craine Gallery. Also on exhibit in October: acrylic paintings by Darcy Herrington.
See large-scale paintings of marine mammals and aquatic life by Cape muralist and artist Greg Johnson. The show will hang through July.
Land and Seascapes, an exhibit of 40 paintings by Eastham artists Margaret Furness and Jody Shyllberg, is showing for the month of June in the Craine Gallery. Both artists share their interpretations of coastal landscapes, seascapes and the people of Cape Cod. A reception will be held on June 10, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., in the gallery. Please stop by to enjoy art, light refreshments and meet Margaret and Jody.
“Nauset Waves,” an exhibit by Cape Cod photographer John Tunney, features impressionistic, abstract and traditional images of the rolling waters off Nauset Beach. It will be on display in the library’s Craine Room through the month of May. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be available, and pianist Jessica Lamperti will perform. All are welcome.

Members of the Cape Cod Viewfinders Camera Club show their work in the Craine Gallery through the month of February. A reception for the show will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, with entertainment provided by the Jim Skinger Duo.
Come to the Craine Gallery in January and see “Walking the Camino,” an exhibit of oil pastels by Bill Wibel, documenting his journey along the Camino Way in Spain.

“Seasons,” an exhibit of oils and pastels by Natalie Timoshin, will hang in the Craine Gallery through October. An art reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8. All are welcome.
“Glimpses of Place,” an exhibit of plein air oil paintings by Joyce Zavorskas, will be on display through September in the Craine Gallery, with a reception from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Zavorskas paints from direct observation in nature throughout the year, hiking narrow roads and beaches with backpack and easel, documenting places that matter before their demise.
The Visual Arts Cooperative is a group of artists working in various media who join together in order to promote their work to the general public and to foster increased understanding of the various aspects of creativity in the visual arts. See a display of their works in Snow Library’s Craine Gallery through the month of August. A reception to meet the artists will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Come to the Craine Gallery in July and see paintings by Anne Ierardi. The show features landscapes, still lifes and abstract paintings, including her “Jazz” portrait series, rendered in oils and acrylics.
Ierardi has exhibited at the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, the Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown, the Elizabeth Rowley Gallery in Dennis and the Cape Cod Media Center in South Yarmouth.
Come to the Craine Gallery in June and see plein air paintings by Nancy Hiney.
